It goes to show just how ignorant one can be; I thought Fortalice was two words, the whole association started by a woman called Alice, possibly she herself a victim of violence. But it seems it is one word from the latin, meaning a small fort. Well, whatever it, is my grandaughter and her girls are safe there, & my own daughter feels better knowing they are all protected. So I feel better too.
A brighter note and an addition to my cat theory: Flora hates fish but loves asparagus. How did she develop a taste for asparagus? Don't ask.

My cat has just vomited asparagus fern all over the floor. He obviously thinks that he likes asparagus, but it doesn't like him. He knows that he doesn't really care for fish. I, on the other hand, love both fish and asparagus.

i'm sure flora has a perfectly reasonable explanation - asparagus tastes better than mouse?
Never having tasted mouse, I couldn't possbly comment, and Albert has caught mice from time to time but has never shown any inclination to eat them.
